If your legs cramp when you walk, feel cold when the rest of you doesn’t, or ache in a way you can’t explain, your circulation might be trying to tell you something. An ABI test is a simple way to listen.
Personalized treatment plans built around your health history, not a checklist.
In-office diagnostics and lab work so answers don't take weeks.
A small-practice feel with a team that remembers your name.
ABI stands for ankle-brachial index. It compares the blood pressure at your ankles to the blood pressure in your arms. When the ankle readings come in lower, it can be a sign that the arteries carrying blood to your legs have narrowed, a condition called peripheral artery disease. The test is quick, painless, and done with blood pressure cuffs. No needles, no dye, no radiation.
Circulation problems become more common with age, and they’re more likely if you smoke, have diabetes, or have high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Many people have reduced blood flow in their legs for years without knowing it, because the early signs are easy to blame on getting older or being out of shape. Catching it early matters. It protects your legs, and it tells us something important about your heart health overall.
Usually around 10 to 15 minutes.
We’ll explain what the numbers mean and map out next steps together, which can include lifestyle changes, medication, or a referral to a specialist.
If leg pain or numbness has been nagging at you, don’t write it off. Call (718) 285-4440 and ask about ABI testing.
